FMEA Training Content
FMEA Failure Modes Effects Analysis training teaches a disciplined method to organize potential failure modes and their effects in products and process and to establish
associated resolution actions. FMEA is a primary tool to identify and prevent potential problems during conceptualisation and design of product or processes.
Preventing problems will result in: faster time to market, greater factory throughput, higher customer satisfaction, and reduced product campaigns.
Objectives of the FMEA training course are to:
- Perform Product and Process FMEAs
- Link FMEA to Product Development Process and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Facilitate an FMEA
- Participate in the development of a Design and Process FMEA
- Define risk and determine levels of risk requiring mitigation
- Set up an effective Cross Functional Team (CFT) required for FMEA Development
- Efficiently select Severity, Occurrence and Detection rankings
- Implement a risk reduction process through criticality, significance and annoyance
- Determine design and process special characteristics
- Understand and demonstrate the links between Design FMEA and Process FMEA
- Understand the different types of Design and Process FMEAs
- System
- Subsystem
- Component
- Assembly
- Manufacturing
- Create and manage action plans derived from FMEA
- Manage and store FMEA content for future use
- Understand links between FMEA and problem solving methods, such as:
- Understand links to Control Plan Methodology.
Where required the FMEA course includes the latest FMEA AIAG VDA edition:
- Identify Severity, Occurrence and Detection tables in both FMEA 4th Edition and AIAG VDA FMEA
- Identify the 7 Step Model in AIAG VDA FMEA
- Identify the Three Pathway Model of Criticality, Significance and Annoyance
- Deliver Structure and Failure Analysis
- Identify the difference between Design and Process FMEA and how they interact
- Define Action Priority (AP) over Risk Priority Number (RPN)
- Identify Criticality over AP and RPN
- Identify FMEA-MSR (Monitoring and System Response) and links to ISO26262
