8D Training Course

8D teaches a disciplined process with methods and tools to help Product Development, Manufacturing and Process engineers to identify and solve problems. The course focuses on steps to define the problem, verify root cause and escape point, and prevent occurrence.

After the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Evaluate the need for the 8D process
• Differentiate between DMAIC, DCOV and 8D
• Choose, verify, implement, and validate an Emergency Response Action
• Describe the problem
• Define, verify and implement the Interim Containment Actions
• Isolate and verify the root cause by testing each root cause theory against the problem description
• Select the best Permanent Corrective Actions and verify effectiveness
• Modify the necessary systems, policies, practices, and procedures to prevent recurrence of this problem and similar ones
• Recognize both the team and the individual contributions
